March 1, 1996 Subscribers: 2 Volume 2, No. 6


BOTTLED: The waiting begins . . . that was about the ugliest sight I've ever seen! . . . have you ever been in a service station's bathroom that hasn't been cleaned in a while? . . . I gotta tell ya . . . this bucket o' fermented beer sure did look a lot like that . . . if I didn't know what I'd put in it . . . prob'ly woulda poured it down the sink . . . but we went forth . . . just like the man who ate the first oyster . . . bottled it all up . . . put it in a nice cool corner of the basement . . . only 3 more weeks . . . it looks really clear in the bottles . . . a lot different than how it started . . . stay tuned for more updates.

TREASURE: Last weekend was simply beautiful . . . sunny . . . high 60's . . . ground thawed a little . . . I headed up to the school yard . . . with my metal detector . . . everyone else did, too . . . instead of the birds singin' . . . it was the annoying "beep" of the detectors . . . it was kinda funny to watch how we all tried to stake out our claims . . . a lot like the ol' Gold Rush days . . . I found 4 can tabs . . . 2 buried aluminum cans . . . a hoop earring . . . 65 cents . . . all in about 100 square feet . . . the secret is finding the spot where the kids swing upside down on the bars . . . sure to find some stuff there . . . it was nice how the detector was kind enough to tell me what coins were buried . . . can you believe it? . . . it can tell the difference between pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters . . . can't wait to hit the beach!

UNIVERSITY: MinPin goes to school . . . obedience school . . . oughta be interesting . . . she'll be the smallest dog there . . . amidst the Labradors . . . Irish Setters . . . Rottweilers . . . she'll prob'ly be the first dog ever kicked out . . . I don't know how we'll get her to stop barking long enough . . . I can hardly wait 'til after her first night of class!

LEAP DAY: Did you enjoy leaping yesterday? . . . someone mentioned the fact that if you're salaried you got cheated a day's pay . . . we had to think about that a bit . . . we decided we'd make up for it in other ways . . . we'll take it as comp time . . . spread our leaping out over a few weeks . . . have leap lunches . . . where we add time . . . there's always ways to get it back!
